Hungarian railway inspection approved diagnostics from TVEMA

ZAO "Firma TVEMA" and MAV KFV (Central Rail and Track Inspection) in their joint report acknowledged the success of the tests of NDT equipment and software manufactured by TVEMA, which were carried out last summer on control rail sections in Hungary. ECHO-COMPLEX-2 multi-channel NDT analyzer and ASTRA software and hardware suite automatically detected and logged all reflectors of all control sections in the speed range from 10 to 63 km/h.

Apart form the fact of detection of absolutely all test defects, Hungarian partners were particularly impressed by the adaptability of the system to various types of ultrasonic checking patterns, as well as the user-friendliness and functionality of the software, quality of the data capture/processing, and NDT data analysis.

The innovative hardware solutions and a broad range of functions of the control software offer a new inspection technology which radically reduces the impact of unstable acoustic contact and the qualification of the decoder on the inspection results.

The use of the high-resolution analog-to-digital converter (ADC) ensures the signal conversion in the dynamic range 72 dB. This provides for analysis at almost any level in the range -36 to +12 dB. A distinctive feature of the hardware and software suite is that it helps the operator not to pay attention to the signals which require evaluation.

It should be noted that during tests in Hungary, ECHO-COMPLEX-2 analyzer and ASTRA hardware and software suite were compared with their counterparts of other manufacturers. As was the case with similar tests in Kazakhstan and Germany, TVEMA equipment demonstrated higher functionality than the systems which are used in Europe and Asia.
